Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
MorphCast Inc., a Delaware Corporation

1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how MorphCast Inc. (“MorphCast,” “we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies across our websites, web applications, and online services (collectively, the “Services”).
This Cookie Policy supplements the MorphCast Unified Privacy Policy (https://www.morphcast.com/morphcast-inc-privacy-policy/) and the MorphCast Unified Terms of Use. For details on how we collect, use, and protect personal information — including our roles as Business/Controller or Service Provider/Processor, your privacy rights, and our data-protection-by-design architecture — please refer to the Privacy Policy. This Cookie Policy covers only the technical specifics of cookies and local storage.
2. What Are Cookies and Local Storage
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or session state. Cookies may be “first-party” (set by the website you are visiting) or “third-party” (set by a different domain, such as a service provider).
Local Storage (including localStorage and sessionStorage) is a web storage technology that allows websites to store data on your device, similar to cookies but with greater capacity. Local storage data is not automatically sent with every server request, which can improve performance. sessionStorage is cleared when you close the browser tab; localStorage persists until explicitly cleared.
Web beacons / pixels are tiny transparent images or code snippets embedded in web pages or emails that can track whether content has been viewed. MorphCast does not use web beacons or tracking pixels on its Services.
3. Our Cookie Philosophy
MorphCast takes a privacy-first, minimal-tracking approach to cookies and similar technologies:
• No advertising cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral targeting, or cross-site tracking. We do not serve ads on our Services.
• No third-party analytics. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or social media tracking tools.
• Strictly necessary by default. By default, only cookies required for basic security and functionality are set. No optional or third-party cookies are placed unless you actively use a feature that requires them (such as translation, SSO sign-in, or the chat widget).
• On-device products set no cookies. Our Emotion AI products (SDK, Web Apps keeping data locally, MyMoodScan, Emotion AI Media Player) process all data on your device. They do not set cookies or transmit personal information to MorphCast servers.
• Do Not Track. Because we do not engage in tracking, our Services do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals — there is no tracking activity to disable. We do not track users across third-party websites.
4. Cookies on the MorphCast Website (www.morphcast.com)
4.1 Always Present (Strictly Necessary)
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to your actions (loading a page, signing in) and do not store personally identifiable information.
| Name / Key | Type | Lifespan | Purpose | Personal Data? |
| legalAckCookie | Cookie (1st-party) | 24 hours | Stores that you have seen the legal/territorial disclaimer; avoids re-showing it | No |
| cf_bm | Cookie (Cloudflare) | 30 minutes | Cloudflare bot-manager; protects the site from automated or malicious traffic | No |
4.2 Optional Features (Functional, No Tracking)
These items are set only when you actively use a specific feature. They involve no cross-site tracking and no sale or sharing of personal information.
| Name / Key | Type | Lifespan | Purpose | Personal Data? |
| vf_deviceId | localStorage (Voiceflow) | ~6 months | Random UUID allowing returning users to resume a chat conversation | No |
| vf_session | sessionStorage (Voiceflow) | Session (tab) | Maintains chat context within the current browser tab | No |
| googtrans | Cookie (1st-party) | Session | Stores the language you selected for page translation; set only after you choose a language | No |
4.3 Third-Party Cookies (Set Only When You Use Translation or Portal Sign-In)
When you activate Translation or access the Portal sign-in (which uses Google reCAPTCHA and may offer SSO with Google, Apple, Yahoo, or Microsoft), the relevant providers place cookies on their own domains. These cookies are controlled by the provider and may change over time. They are required to deliver the specific external service you request.
If you do not use Translation or Portal sign-in, these cookies are never set.
| Name (examples) | Provider | Lifespan | Purpose | Category |
| __Secure-1PAPISID, __Secure-1PSID, __Secure-1PSIDCC, __Secure-1PSIDTS, __Secure-3PAPISID, __Secure-3PSID, etc. | .google.com | Up to ~2 years | Authentication and security for Google services (reCAPTCHA, SSO, Translate) | Necessary for requested service |
| __Secure-ENID, AEC, NID, OTZ, S, APISID, HSID, ADS_VISITOR_ID | .google.com / www.google.com | 6–24 months | Service operation, security, and preferences (reCAPTCHA/Translate) | Necessary for requested service |
| Identity provider cookies (Apple, Yahoo, Microsoft) | appleid.apple.com, login.yahoo.com, login.live.com / microsoftonline.com | Varies by provider | Set only if you choose that SSO option; required to complete authentication | Necessary for requested service |
Consent model: By default we place no third-party cookies. If you choose Translation or Portal sign-in, you request a feature delivered in part by those providers; their cookies then become necessary to fulfill your request.
5. Cookies on the MorphCast Portal (Dashboard)
The Portal sets no tracking cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies are used to enable secure login and account functionality.
| Name / Key | Type | Lifespan | Purpose | Category |
| portalPerm | Cookie (1st-party) | Session / short-term | Stores permission/role information for your Portal session | Strictly necessary |
| Portal session token (e.g., JWT) | Cookie (cdn-api-portal.morphcast.com) | Session / short-term (max 2 hours) | Keeps you signed in to the Portal | Strictly necessary |
| Google reCAPTCHA cookies (__Secure-*, NID, AEC, OTZ, etc.) | .google.com | Varies (~6–24 months) | Protects login against abuse/spam and ensures secure authentication | Strictly necessary (security) |
| SSO provider cookies (Google / Apple / Yahoo / Microsoft) | Provider domains | Varies per provider | Set only if you choose that SSO method; required to complete login | Strictly necessary for chosen SSO |
These cookies are only set when you actively log in to the Portal or choose an SSO option. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
6. Cookies and Local Storage in MorphCast Products
6.1 Emotion AI HTML5 SDK (JS Engine)
The SDK itself does not set any cookies or use local storage. All AI processing occurs on-device in the End User’s browser. The only data transmitted to MorphCast is non-identifiable license-validation telemetry (no cookies, no IP addresses, no user identifiers). Developers who integrate the SDK into their own applications are responsible for their own cookie and privacy practices.
6.2 Ready-to-Use Web Apps (Keeping Data Locally) and MyMoodScan
These single-page web apps run entirely in the browser. They do not set cookies and do not transmit personal information to MorphCast servers. Emotion analysis results are stored temporarily in the browser’s memory or localStorage and are cleared when you refresh the page or clear your browser storage. The only data transmitted is non-identifiable, aggregated usage telemetry (session count, error rates) — no cookies are involved.
Local storage used: Some Web Apps may use localStorage to persist your analysis results or settings between sessions. This data remains entirely on your device and is never sent to MorphCast. You can clear it at any time through your browser’s storage settings.
6.3 MorphCast for Zoom
MorphCast for Zoom uses cookies for the Host only, including authentication and session management via Zoom and the MorphCast for Zoom application. Guests (conference participants) do not have cookies or data in localStorage set by MorphCast for Zoom.
Zoom’s own cookies are governed by Zoom’s Cookie Statement (https://www.zoom.com/en/trust/cookie-policy/). Depending on your jurisdiction, Zoom may require your prior consent for different types of cookies.
6.4 MorphCast Emotion AI Video Conference
The Video Conference application uses strictly necessary cookies for session management (authentication token, conference state). No advertising or tracking cookies are set. The underlying AWS Chime infrastructure may set its own strictly necessary cookies; refer to AWS’s privacy documentation for details.
6.5 AI Interactive Media Platform (Studio) and Emotion AI Media Player
MorphCast Studio (desktop and web) uses session cookies for creator authentication and workspace management. The Emotion AI Media Player (the viewer-facing web player) does not require sign-in and does not set cookies on the viewer’s device. Viewer camera frames are processed on-device and discarded in-memory; no cookies or local storage are used for viewer emotion data.
7. How to Manage Cookies and Local Storage
You can control and manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
• View which cookies and local storage items are currently set for a website.
• Delete individual cookies or clear all cookies/storage for a specific site.
• Block all cookies or only third-party cookies.
• Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set.
Please note that blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies may impair the functionality of the Services, including Portal sign-in and session management.
For more information on managing cookies in your browser:
• Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
• Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
• Safari: Preferences > Privacy
• Edge: edge://settings/privacy
Third-party cookies set by providers (e.g., Google, Apple, Yahoo, Microsoft) are controlled by those providers and may persist according to their own policies. You can manage these through your account settings with each provider or through your browser’s cookie management tools.

9. Legal Basis for Cookie Use
Our use of cookies and local storage is based on the following legal justifications:
• Strictly necessary cookies: These are exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended) and equivalent U.S. state laws because they are essential for the provision of the Service explicitly requested by the user.
• Feature-requested functional storage: Items such as the chat widget UUID and translation preference are set only in response to a user action that explicitly requests the feature. They are necessary to fulfill that request and involve no cross-site tracking.
• Third-party cookies (Translation, reCAPTCHA, SSO): These are set by the relevant provider only when you actively use a feature delivered by that provider. They are necessary to fulfill the specific service you have requested.
MorphCast does not rely on consent as a legal basis for any cookies it sets, because all MorphCast cookies are strictly necessary or feature-requested. Third-party providers may apply their own consent models as required by their policies and applicable law.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable law. Material changes will be announced via a prominent notice on our website. The effective date at the top of this document indicates when revisions became effective.
